Summary: Primarily includes exterior and interior views of the
Technological Institute building at Northwestern University in Evanston (Ill.).
Exterior views show a building clad in stone. Also included are details of the
entrances with decorative relief sculpture reflecting the history of
technology. Interior views include the lobby, which has a decorative sculptural
panel; lecture halls; laboratories (Cement, Heat Power, Chemistry); machine
shops; library; and a meeting room. Some of the views show men, probably
students, working at lathes and other machines, and blowing glass laboratory
equipment. One view shows men and one woman working in a laboratory.
