Summary:
Includes exterior and interior views of the Greyhound bus terminal in
Chicago (Ill.), designed by architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. Exterior
views include Clark Street entrance with tiled wall and Greyhound logo,
bus-arrival area at night, and the Clark and Randolph corner of the building,
with Stineway drugstore occupying the street level. Other exteriors of the low,
flat building include the south facade on Randolph Street, with street-level
retail shops on each side of the bus-terminal entrance, and a view south on
Clark Street from Lake Street that shows the parking entrance. Entrances
feature cantilevered slab canopies. Interior views include the main concourse,
with circular information desk, escalators, waiting areas, and colonnades
beneath upper decks of glass-walled offices along both sides. Some views of the
concourse emphasize the spot- lighting fixtures suspended from the ceiling.
Interiors also include a lounge with full bar, a customer-service area, and the
dispatchers' office. Most views include people.
