Summary:
Includes exterior and interior views of the
Sawyer Biscuit Co. building in Melrose Park (Ill.), designed by architects
Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. Exteriors show a long, low, steel-frame structure
with curtain walls of glass, brick, and vertical metal siding between exposed
columns. Some facades that are not fully glazed have ribbon windows. A parking
lot lines the building along the factory/warehouse's back wall. Interior views
include food-processing machinery and assembly lines in an open factory setting
that has exposed trusses and brick or polished- wood floors. Interiors also
include a lunchroom with vertical- wood siding, and a wood-paneled stairwell
with half-turn stairs. Workers are present in many interior views.
