Summary description of the collection:

Photoprints depict residents, members and activities of Association House, a settlement house located in Chicago's West Town community area. Most photos show children in groups, at structured play in classroom or gymnasium situations, and at unstructured play at playgrounds, beaches, or camps (in Delevan, Wisc. and Grays Lake, Ill.). Children are also shown at parties and banquets, participating in theatrical performances, and receiving child care. Scenes with adults show residents supervising children, and members participating in English or stenographic classes, social functions, theatrical performances, and hobbies (e.g. rugmaking). Includes a few portraits of directors, notably Alfred E. Rath, and early administrators Carrie B. Wilson, Norma Williams and Ellen Holt. Some photoprints are identified; album spanning 1900-1917 is captioned.

Note: Some photonegatives are printed.
