Description of the Collection:
Summary: Materials primarily concern events held at the International Amphitheatre, built in 1934 in Chicago's Stockyards for the purpose of housing the International Live Stock Exposition. Additionally, the Amphitheatre was used for dairy shows, rodeos, sports events, flower shows, labor conventions, and Republican and Democratic conventions and photographs and posters depict these subjects. Also includes portraits of members of the board of the Amphitheatre and ruins of the 1899 building that was destroyed by fire in 1934.
