Description of the Collection

Includes single sailboats at full sail and groups of sailboats participating in races particularly the Mackinac Race. Also candid shots of the crews both on deck and posing on shore, along with member portraits ca. 1920. Examples of nautical clothing worn by the crews, ca. 1900-1910.

Accession 1980.0017 contains 12 photographs of the 1911 Mackinac boat race showing the ships Amorita, Valmori and Vencedor and the wreck of the Vencedor. They are stored as #2,3,7-11 in box1 folder 3; #1,4 in box1 folder 12; #5 in box1 folder1; #6 in box1 folder 8.
