Description of the Collection

Summary: Views of the Powers family of Chicago. Eugene "Red" Powers

was assistant chief photographer (1934-1960s) and Irene Powers was

woman's club editor (1940-1960s) for the Chicago Tribune. Subjects

include family gatherings, Tribune staff parties, vacations in

Mexico, and leisure activities such as golfing. Also part of an album

with Eugene and other marines serving in WWII in the Pacific. Most

family photographs are unidentified. Most negatives do not match

prints.
