Summary:

Visual materials from the collection of commercial photographer Hutchinson primarily consisting

of cityscapes of Chicago & images of various yachts & boats from races & excursions. Includes

races on Lake Michigan, participants, awards ceremonies & related marine activities. Most

cityscapes focus on the central area of the city: the Loop, the Chicago River & the Michigan

Avenue bridge, & the north Michigan Avenue commercial area. Some cityscapes show Chicago &

suburbs in winter. Photoprints include Loop office buildings; museums such as the Field Museum,

Museum of Science & Industry, the Planetarium; plus a few scenes of a hospital operating room, the

Ba'hai Temple (Wilmette, Ill.) & the Grand Hotel (Mackinac Island, Mich.). Tranparencies also

include views of parades, including Shriners Parade (1963), Milwaukee Parade (1965), Greek

Parade (1966), & views of Spain & Mexico. Includes portraits of Hutchinson.
