Summary description of the collection:

Photographs of Benjamin Carpenter (1809-1881), Ralph N. Isham (1831-1904), their families and descendants, and views of the house that both families occupied at 945 North Dearborn Street in Chicago (Ill.), known as 293 North Dearborn before the change in street numbering. There are numerous photographs of the interior and exterior of the house, including views of the library, music room, entrance hall, upstairs hall, master suite, main stairway, Judge Carpenter’s office, and main hallways. Also in the collection are photographs of the Lake View summer house of George Snow and Elizabeth Manierre and portraits of other family members.
